International Logistics Coordinator – Asia to North & South America

Job Summary:
The International Logistics Coordinator is a critical role ensuring the seamless flow of goods from our manufacturing facilities to our customers. You will manage all aspects of international and domestic logistics, including shipping (LTL,FTL, ocean), drayage, intermodal, transloading, and documentation, with a strong focus on coordinating timely and accurate delivery appointments for both container direct and domestic shipments. This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee End-to-End Logistics: Manage international shipments from Asia to North/South America.
- Coordinate domestic LTL and FTL shipments, drayage, intermodal, and transloading.
- Oversee receiving, transportation, and all associated documentation.
- Delivery Appointment Coordination: Schedule and confirm delivery appointments with customers for both container direct ocean shipments and domestic shipments.
- Proactively communicate with customers and carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve any issues that arise with delivery schedules or appointments.
- Purchase Order Management: Work with suppliers to monitor and update expected ship dates, quantities, and maintain accurate data in our ERP system.
- Freight & Shipment Coordination: Coordinate and track freight bookings with origin teams, freight forwarders, and suppliers.
- Analyze ex-factory dates and port cut-offs to optimize lead times.
- Manage local trucking logistics for partial container loads.
- Review container booking requests and escalate discrepancies.
- Proactive Monitoring & Communication: Monitor shipment schedules, supplier performance, and proactively address potential delays.
- Track and communicate delays to internal and external stakeholders transparently and professionally.
- Coordinate reverse logistics (returns) with internal teams and customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with sales and logistics teams to improve processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Help implement logistics strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Compliance & Expertise: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for imports and exports.
- Maintain expertise in global trade regulations.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years in logistics operations, preferably with international experience.
Skills:
Strong understanding of logistics processes and best practices.
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills to resolve delivery challenges.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and handle stress.
Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills.
Technical:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, logistics software/TMS, and ERP systems.
