We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Cesar Piña on his recent promotion to Senior Vice President & Chief Supply Chain Officer, North America, at McDonald’s Corporation—effective October 1, 2024. Cesar will be taking over from Bob Stewart, who is retiring after an illustrious career.

Cesar Piña has been a cornerstone in driving significant advancements throughout his ten-year journey with McDonald’s. His dedication to enhancing the global supply chain & fostering a culture of collaboration makes him the ideal leader for this pivotal role. As Marion Gross, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Supply Chain Officer, aptly stated, “Cesar has made significant contributions across his 10-year McDonald’s career to drive meaningful change to our global supply chain & the system at large, & there is no doubt that he is the right leader to carry forward McDonald’s priorities.”

Before this promotion, Cesar served as Corporate Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing for Food (GSSF) since September 2022. His extensive experience in various quality systems & supply chain director roles since 2014 has equipped him with the skills to navigate & lead in these dynamic times.

Cesar’s visionary approach has already led to remarkable initiatives—such as developing a deforestation-free beef supply chain in Latin America & forming key global food & beverage partnerships. His efforts have been instrumental in shaping supply chain business plans across 80 markets, ensuring resilience & sustainability.

Reflecting on his new role, Cesar remarked, “At this moment in time of rapid change, balancing the needs of today with the expectation to drive long-term positive results means there has never been a more important time to prioritize business resiliency. The scale & resources of McDonald’s—matched with the power to convene suppliers, NGOs, academia, & government stakeholders—put us in a unique position to help build a resilient food supply chain.”

We also take this opportunity to acknowledge Bob Stewart’s exceptional contributions over his 30-year tenure with McDonald’s. His leadership in digitalizing the supply chain & navigating unprecedented challenges has set a high standard for excellence. As Bob shared in his LinkedIn post, “The teamwork through some of the most complex & unprecedented supply chain challenges of my time & the ‘high-fives’ through successful supply chain initiative launches have made every day under the Arches a joy.”

At Remcoda, we are excited to see the continued evolution of McDonald’s supply chain under Cesar’s capable leadership. His innovative mindset & collaborative spirit promise a bright future for McDonald’s supply chain initiatives. Congratulations once again, Cesar! We look forward to seeing where you take the supply chain for McDonald’s.
